Christmas Arrives Early in Ottawa – 3rd Annual Christmas
in July In support of the Christmas Exchange
July 2, 2008
(Ottawa, ON)
Everyone is welcome to come and join in the fun of celebrating
Christmas a little bit early this year. The 3rd Annual Christmas
in July presented by Enbridge will be held on Thursday, July
17th, from 6 am to 9 am at the Fallowfield Transit Station (corner of
Woodroffe Ave and Fallowfield Rd). This early morning breakfast BBQ is
free, however donations are welcome in support of the Christmas Exchange.
Donations will also be matched by Scotiabank up to $1000 so the more you
give, the more families the Exchange can help!
Several VIPs will be in
attendance to help serve breakfast and collect donations
for the Exchange. Those in attendance will include Mayor
Larry O’Brien, MP Pierre
Poilievre (Nepean-Carleton), Councillors Jan Harder and Steve
Desroches, Max Keeping and Jacqueline Holzman. You never know who else
might drop by!
With good food, lots of Christmas merriment, and a variety
of special guests including Santa, this is an occasion you
don’t
want to miss.
Christmas in July is proud to be supported by Enbridge,
Mattamy Homes, Scotiabank, the Ottawa Citizen, Ross’ Your
Independent Grocer, Starbucks Coffee, and OC Transpo.
Can’t make
it out for breakfast? Then support the Christmas Exchange
through the purchase of a raffle ticket at Ross’ Your Independent
Grocer (3777 Strandherd Dr). The winner will receive a Vermont
Castings natural gas BBQ and complimentary installation,
courtesy of Enbridge Gas Distribution and Capital Appliance & BBQ.
A value of $1,000!
Christmas Exchange provides food assistance
to those in need during the December holiday season. In 2007,
the Christmas Exchange provided direct assistance with food
hampers and food vouchers to 23,793 people in 8,604 families, including
