Community Groups Fundraise For Christmas Exchange

Feel like doing something different to celebrate the upcoming holiday season while still giving back to the community? Well then Christmas Exchange, in conjunction with some extremely generous community groups, has a number of events and fundraisers for you!

First, The Gladstone theatre has generously offered to team up with Christmas Exchange this December the 2nd to give you an opportunity to preview their upcoming Christmas play: “The Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townwomen’s Guild Drama Society’s Production of A Christmas Carol”. For $20, you’ll have tickets to a comedy that promises to be fun for the whole family, while at the same time supporting Christmas Exchange’s efforts to help those in need this holiday season. All proceeds raised will go directly to Christmas Exchange in order to provide individuals and families in need with food hampers and redeemable food vouchers during the holidays.

To order your tickets for the Gladstone production, please call 613-226-6434. Tickets will also be sold at the Carlingwood Shopping Centre on November 28th, from 9:30am until 3pm.

In addition to this event, another member of the community has graciously decided to fundraise for Christmas Exchange. Until December 11th Yarn Forward & Sew-On will be producing discount coupons that will give holders a 10% discount, which Yarn Forward & Sew-On will then match with a donation to the Christmas Exchange. (Sewing machines, sergers, and software is only discounted 5% plus a 5% donation to Christmas Exchange).

Yuk Yuk’s on Elgin Street is also helping out Christmas Exchange this December. For the first three Raw Talent Tuesdays of the month, Yuk Yuk’s will be donating 50 cents from each $4.50 ticket to Christmas Exchange.
